These Terms & Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement between you and The Canadian Carp Society (“we,” “our,” or “the Society”). By accessing our website (www.canadiancarpsociety.com), purchasing from our store, attending our events, or participating in our groups, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.

 1. Website Usage

  • Eligibility: You must be 14 years of age or older to use this website.

  • Parental or Guardian Consent: Members under the age of 18 must provide written consent by email. This email will be sent by the parent or guardian of the member to: [email protected].

  • Intellectual Property: All content (text, graphics, logos, images) is the property of The Canadian Carp Society or its licensors. You are granted a limited license to view this content for personal use only.

  • Prohibited Conduct: You may not:
    • Publish, sell, or commercialize website material.
    • Perform or show website material publicly.
    • Engage in data mining, harvesting, or extraction.
    • Use the site in a way that damages the platform or impacts other users.
  • Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You are the sole authorized user of your account.

  • User Content: Any content you upload grants the Society a worldwide, irrevocable, sub-licensable license to use, reproduce, and distribute that content. You represent that your content is your own and does not infringe on third-party rights. We reserve the right to remove user content at any time.

2. The Canadian Carp Society Online Store

  • Orders & Processing: We aim to process orders within 48 hours (excluding holidays). Delivery times are estimated and managed by third-party shipping providers; we are not responsible for delays outside our control.

  • Pricing & Payments: Prices exclude shipping and taxes, which are calculated at checkout. Payments are accepted via secure methods. All transactions are in Canadian Dollars (CAD).

  • Shipping: Currently, shipping is limited to Canada via Canada Post.

  • Returns & Refunds: All sales are final. We do not issue refunds or returns. Please verify sizing and product descriptions carefully before purchase.

3. Events and Socials

  • Liability: The Canadian Carp Society is not responsible for personal injury, financial loss, or lost/stolen items at any event (in-person or virtual). Claims for reimbursement will not be entertained.

  • Payment: Where applicable, full payment is required prior to participation.

  • Media Release: By participating, you consent to being photographed, filmed, or recorded. The Society retains the right to use this media for promotional purposes.

  • Conduct: We reserve the right to remove or ban any participant who breaches our event rules or guidelines.

4. Buy & Sell Group (Use at your own risk)

  • General Disclaimer: The Buy and Sell Group is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee, investigate, or mediate private transactions, and we are not liable for any losses, misdealings, or disputes.

  • Private Sales: This group is strictly for personal, second-hand items between members.

  • Commercial Sales: Legally registered businesses or retail-capacity sellers must obtain explicit, written permission from the CCS Admin before posting. Unauthorized commercial posts will be removed and may result in a ban.

  • Account Termination: Members who fail to honor agreements or violate these rules may have their account terminated and data deleted at the Society’s discretion.

5. General Legal Provisions

  • No Warranties: This website and all services are provided “as is.” We make no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of content.

  • Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Canadian Carp Society, its directors, Operations Team, and moderators are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of our website, store, events, or groups.

  • Indemnification: You agree to indemnify the Society against any liabilities, costs, or damages arising from your breach of these Terms.

  • Governing Law: These terms are governed by the laws of Canada. Any disputes fall under the jurisdiction of Canadian Provincial and Federal courts.

  • Amendments: We may update these terms at any time without notice. It is your responsibility to review them periodically. Continued use of our website or services constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
