WHO WE ARE
A Canadian Carp Anglers Group, created by Carp Anglers for Carp Anglers.
Formed in 2020 by Nathan Cutler and Wayne Smith, the Canadian Carp Society launched in March 2021 with the goal of uniting carp anglers across Canada. Since the launch, we have members across Canada, the United States and Europe.
The Canadian Carp Society is dedicated to passionate catch and release carp anglers. We hope to document, grow and promote carp angling right here in Canada.

The Canadian Carp Society is engaging, informative and entertaining. It could easily become a benchmark for any other type of organized group.

Finally. One place for Canadian Carp Anglers to come together to share and document Carp Angling in Canada.

Canadian carp angling needs this. Let's bring everyone together. It is going to be huge.

Never before did I feel a need to be a part of a group. It wasn't necessarily because I didn't want to be a part of a movement, rather I just found it difficult to align with the existing groups at the time. The drama was beyond reason and reeked of elitism. When the concept of the Canadian Carp Society was brought to my attention I felt that in the name itself suggested that it was a cut above. When I was asked to be a part of the inner circle so to speak, I was honoured to be welcomed amongst an all-star group of anglers whom I deem the cream of the crop in terms of advocates for Canadian carp fishing. This is not like other groups and is worth every penny of the membership.

The Canadian Carp Society is the group I had been missing. A comfortable environment with like minded anglers who all strive to better the sport and themselves while enjoying it in the most positive and forward thinking way. Sharing ideas and questions without the barrage of harassment that so many social media and forums have been overrun by, the Canadian Carp Society has made the social part of Carp angling productive and welcoming. A refreshing and needed change to this community.

The birth of the CCS is something that was long overdue in Canada. Although I have been fishing carp for nearly 15 years, I hadn’t ever had a place to share my passion, ideas or stories with others. Most people don’t understand why it is that we fish for carp. Not being a fan of social media, I only spoke to a select number of people regarding my fishing. John Bulmer and I became friends after discovering that we both were passionate about pursuing carp. Through John I had met some other anglers that shared the same passion, but something was missing. Over the years we fished many swims and sharpened our skills, but the sport was not growing.
When I was asked to become a Vanguard member during the testing phase of the CCS I jumped right in. I knew during the first Zoom call that I was in the right place with the right people. Wayne and Nathan brought together a core group of knowledgeable anglers from all over Canada who all share the same love for carp angling. Collectively information was and is coming in on a regular basis to share with carp anglers no matter your experience. The CCS is a member driven site. It’s a movement. It’s a place we can all share, engage and learn about the one thing that most of us cannot stop thinking about ... CATCHING CARP!

Why the Canadian Carp Society?
For myself, the Canadian Carp Society is far more than just another online fishing group, as this truly is a community of passionate Carp anglers who are dedicated to their craft as well as the promotion of catch and release angling across Canada.
There is something for everyone, whether a beginner or a seasoned Carper respectively, and not to mention the conversations you can have with anglers from across the country. To me this is a place to escape the everyday drama’s that is the social media of today’s world and to share your stories and captures without the worries of being judged, and maybe even make some friends along the way.
To me this is the very definition of a true angling community, and I couldn’t be more proud to call myself a member, as you should be too.

Interesting really, not sure how to describe it for myself. It’s not just a Canadian fishing organisation to me, I’ve made friends, made life changing contacts and discovered a safe heaven where I can celebrate the best kept secret in Canada.
Being part of this has given me great drive and something to be genuinely proud of. For others I imagine it can be many things. A wealth of knowledge and tips, and again somewhere to make friends and most of all a community.
Carp fishing in Canada is not spoken about enough, and that is what the CCS is all about.

Quiet simply put -
A “band of brothers & sisters”, a dedicated, loyal group of carp anglers willing to share, teach all that goes into this sport. The spilling of glug, sweat and tears mixed together in desperate search of their quarry makes the CCS a family as close as any blood tie can make us.

As soon as I heard about the CCS, I wanted to be part of it.
Carp fishing groups – especially those online, can become clicky and intimidating but it was clear from the outset that this wasn’t like the others. It’s a great group of people that are passionate about all things carpy – beginners to experts, old and young, women and men - where we can share tips, tricks and tales and stories about Canadian Carp fishing – not rehashed from Europe or south of the border – pure Canadian content for Canadian anglers delivered in a typically Canadian way – friendly, welcoming and helpful. I have learnt loads and made lots of new friends in the short time it’s been running. The most important part of it is that it’s whatever you want it to be… You want to hang around on the edge and see what others are doing – that’s ok! You want to take center stage and write articles, plan events and fish ins – that’s ok too!

I really wish I had the CCS 10 years ago when I started as the information that has been posted and is available is invaluable and would have shortened my learning curve significantly.
