Mirror Carp are rare in Canada, so when we received news from CCS member LP Lortie that he had caught a 34lb mirror, it sent ripples of excitement through the CCS community.

After 4 years of grinding this magical place I finally put my hands on a specimen that broke the 30 pound mark. At 34.75 pound this is by far the biggest mirror I have ever caught. An epic boat battle that lasted over 10 minutes with probably 25 heart attacks. For me it’s a fish of a lifetime and I couldn’t ask for more after a shitty year. This fish came on a 14mm Citrus Blend pop up place over a bed of tigernut and bollies.
